Sketches of Gauri Lankesh killers released

The Special Investigation team formed soon after the gruesome killing of journalist, Gauri Lankesh on September 5th in Bangalore by unidentified bike-borne men, on Saturday, October 14th released the sketches of two suspects in the murder and also sought any public information on their whereabouts.

SIT chief B.K. Singh said that the sketches, including two different ones of a suspect, were prepared after analysing the CCTV footage and getting physical description of suspects from eyewitnesses. The SIT had questioned over 250 persons in the case, he said.

Video clips released

The police on Saturday released two clips of a suspect on a motorcycle scouting the neighbourhood of Rajarajeshwari nagar in which Gauri Lankesh lived, four hours before she was killed.

Mr. Singh said the accused were professionals and used a 7.65mm country-made pistol. However, investigation is yet to reveal the motive for the murder.

Motorcycle used by the killers being traced

The  accused are believed to have stayed at least one week in the area to do all their background work including finding the routes for escape.
