Party suspends Umamaheswara Raju, Cadre backs him as Vijayawada City president
Political jolt in Andhra Pradesh State BJP takes on into new turn. Only just an hour after releasing the suspension notice to Vijayawada city BJP president Dasam Umamaheshwar Raju from his party post, the district BJP cadre assembled and unanimously opposed the suo motu decision of the BJP state president and Vizag MP, Kambampati Hari Babu. The state BJP Chief has suspended Umamaheshwar Raju for anti-party activities in the context of announcing him as strong contestant for the nominated post. State BJP President has taken up the issue seriously and considered as violation of Party and expressed their displeasure. On the other hand the grass route cadre opposed with the party decision by passing two unanimous resolutions. The first one is to oppose the decision of suspending Umamaheshwar Raju from party position and membership. The second one is to recall him as the BJP Vijayawada city president. The followers and BJP activists passed these resolutions made to the BJP National President Amit Shah. Earlier, Umamaheshwar Raju had questioned the Party stand on identifying the candidate for a nominated post. The opponents of Raju’s in the state BJP has thrown the pressure on leadership for taking action against Umamaheswar Raju. However, the cadre is openly opposing this state leadership decision.
