Horror in Hyderabad-another demonetization tragedy

A 9th class student in a private school in Chandrayangutta was humiliated in school for not paying his fees and committed suicide when he reached his home by hanging himself.

Based on the complaint by Salman’s parents, the police have registered a case under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“Principal  humiliated my brother by pulling down his pants and beating him”

The student Salman (16) was allegedly humiliated by the school management for non-payment of fees. Disheartened after being humiliated, the class 9 student returned home and killed himself.

“The principal humiliated my brother by pulling down his pants and beating him. He was threatened by the school management for three-four days to clear the dues before he took the extreme step,” alleged Basheer, brother of Salman.

Parents unable to pay fees because of demonetisation

The deceased’s parents said that they missed the fee deadline because of demonetisation but were trying hard to clear the dues. Salman’s parents and family have told the Police that they were not able to pay the school fees for two months because of the government ban on Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes.

However, the school management denied any such incident and said that the boy killed himself due to personal reasons.

Every few days we read about cruelty to children who are sent to study in schools. Who can really protect our children from heartless school managements like these?
