How the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu engineered defections from YCP to ruling TDP is history. Besides offering cash awards and contracts Naidu had promised cabinet berth to certain turncoats almost a year ago and kept them in waiting on their hooks till date. And by the time the Chief Minister decided to expand his cabinet and give a couple of berths to the turncoats another setback stuck the road. The Governor ESL Narasimhan has reportedly told the Chief Minister that he has no objection to administer oath of office secrecy to such MLAs who won the election on YCP ticket and shifted loyalties, but with a rider, that the legislators should resign to assembly and also get it accepted by the Speaker before taking oath.
The Governor’s decision according to sources has shocked Naidu and of course turncoat MLAs. Naidu had criticized the Governor when he administrated the oath of office and secrecy to Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, a TDP MLA at that time as a Minister in Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao cabinet, is in pique situation now. The governor if the reports are true, has send shock waves to Naidu garu, the critics say.
