The morning came with the breaking news that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in a teleconference has decided to exit from the NDA. This was in the offing since a long time with the centre continuing in its refusal to grant the Special status category to the bifurcated state of Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP has 16 members in the Lok Sabha.Last week the TDP pulled out its two ministers out of the central government but had stopped short of walking out of the alliance. Special status would mean a large infusion of central funds to help with the state government’s plans to develop its new capital Amaravati.

Naidu sees anti-BJP mood after bypoll setback for BJP

The Chief Minister has purportedly told his lawmakers that the BJP was trying to do a Tamil Nadu template of action in Andhra Pradesh, using both Y.S.R.Jagan Reddy and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan against the TDP. Pawan Kalyan, at a public meeting in Mangalgiri on Wednesday, focused all his criticism on the TDP and the chief minister and directly accused Mr Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh of corruption.
