In a shocking incident that reflects the scanty security to women in India, 17 -year old actor of Dangal fame, Zaira Wasim who was travelling with her mother,on the Delhi- Mumbai flight of Air Vistara was molested by a 39-yr old co-passenger.
“The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse. It continued for another five to
ten minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck” said the teenaged actor on her social post. She also added that the airline crew were of no help.
39-year-old Vikas Sachdev arrested
Following the huge uproar after this incident, the Mumbai police arrested the culprit , late on Sunday , December 10th evening. He was booked under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to
outrage her modesty) of IPC, and relevant sections of Protection of Children
from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) as the actor is a minor.
