Manchu Manoj is going to entertain the audiences in a dual role in his new film Okkadu Migiladu. The film is based on true incidents. Manoj is playing the role of LTTE chief Prabhakaran and he is also going to be seen as a student leader in the movie.
Meanwhile, the interesting buzz is that Manoj has done the action choreography for the film and he is super excited about the way the film is shaping up. Manoj and Anisha Ambrose played the lead roles in the film. Ajay is the newcomer making his directional debut with the film. Check the film’s review here.
Story:
A college professor (Milind Gunaji) make use of three students for his promotions and involves in the murder of those three. They later create it as a suicide but their friend Surya (Manoj) fights against this and tries to reveal the actual truth behind the murder. The professor with the help of the minister and cops plans an encounter to eliminate Surya. What happens then and how successful did Surya come out forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Manchu Manoj and Anisha Ambrose have played the lead roles in the film. Both of them are there at their best. Especially Manoj who played two different roles as LTTE Chief Prabhakaran which is a good one and the other role Surya is a student leader. Manoj impressed everyone.
Manchu Manoj is surely going to grab more offers which have a lot of scope for the performance. The actor is at his best in terms of dialogue delivery and emotional scenes. Anisha Ambrose also delivered a good performance in the film and made her presence felt. The rest of the actors did well in the limited and that is all about the casting.
Technical Team:
The director of photography is V.K.Ramaraju. He has impressed with his crafts. The camera work looks nice. The music by Shiva Nandigam is alright. There are no songs but there is only background score in the film. The Karthik Srinivas editing could have been sharp and the runtime could have been chopped off for the better flow of the movie.
The screenplay and writing are average. The dialogues are good. P.S.Varma’s artwork is impressive. The production values of the movie are grand. The technical aspects are okay. The VFX and graphics work came out well.
Plus Points:
Performances
Action Sequences
Minus Points:
Screenplay
Direction
Verdict:
The purpose behind the making of the film Okkadu Migiladu is very good. The makers tried to bring out the efforts of the civilians and they have come up with a good story based on real incidents happen during the Srilankan civil war. But the way it was narrated and executed brings a boredom to the audiences. The efforts are not paired up well because of the improper narration.
The first half mainly focus on the interrogation Cruelty and it has an excessive violence. The overdose of violence is acceptable but it is not going in sync with the storytelling. The film depicts the lives and the reality in an interesting manner but except for the boat sequence in the second half, there is nothing very much interesting in the movie.
The sentiment also failed to work properly because of the poorly written script. A lot of scenes in the film test the patience. On a whole, it is true and genuine effort which is failed to impress because of the drawbacks in script and execution.
