The ruling BJP government is working with a definite plan. The winning formula of total polarisation and unabashed anti-minority stance that clicked in Uttar Pradesh seems to be the mantra for other states too. While the general election is two years away, and the State elections in Bihar are three years away, the BJP’s preparatory work has never stopped.

BJP president Amit Shah has deputed the vitriolic UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath to visit Bihar’s capital Patna and address meetings to mark the third anniversary of the Narendra Modi government.

The modus operandi of ruling government

Amit Shah has charted a plan where each opposition leader is matched to a BJP leader, depending on his calibre. It is as interesting as a WWF Wrestling tournament. So Adityanath with Lalu Prasad Yadav who is a thorn in the BJP’s flesh as he is an outspoken campaigner for Opposition unity.

“All BJP Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers have been deputed to travel to the States — especially those not ruled by the BJP — between May 27 and June 15, but preferably between May 27 and 30, to speak at public meetings to highlight the work of their own and of the Centre. Yogi Adityanathji will travel to Patna and one of his deputies Keshav Prasad Maurya will go to Nalanda, considered the pocket borough of Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar,” a source in the BJP said.

As part of this plan, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das will visit Durgapur, and Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh will visit Asansol, both in West Bengal. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will go to Cuttack, Odisha, and Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis will visit Kochi, Kerala. Dinesh Sharma, the other Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will be in Tamil Nadu.

So one can wait and watch these “wrestling matches” unfold soon on television. After all entertainment is necessary to take one’s mind off the scorching heat.
