Singam 3, which stars Suriya, Anushka and Shruthi Haasan in lead roles, is a sequel to Singam II and the third film in the Singam franchise. The film has hit the theaters across the world on Thursday. Let’s see how the film has fared.

Narasimha (Suriya) is called in from Andhra Pradesh by the Karnataka government to investigate the murder of the police commissioner of Mangalore. As soon as he arrives in Mangalore, Narasimha begins investigation and gathers evidence.

This investigation leads Narasimham to go after a dread don Vitthal (Thakur Anoop Singh), who operates his Indian dealings from Sydney in Australia. Vitthal who is the son of a Central minister, turns down the port into a dumping yard. Narasimham sets a mission to bring down the empire of Vitthal? Why was the commissioner murder? How he handles Vitthal? forms the rest of the story.

For Suriya, the cop role is a cake-walk for him. He brings a lot of depth and energy to his role in the third franchise. He carries the entire film on his shoulders and also continues to look handsome in Singam 3 with his long mustache. Shruthi Haasan gets a meaty role as Vidhya and she performs well. Anushka Sherry has nothing much to perform. Thakur looks stylish and pays his part quite well. As for the rest of the cast, they try to put in adequate performances.

The dialogues are good, the background score is neat, songs could have been better, cinematography is appealing, editing could have better, Cinematography and art department have done their job perfectly.

Director Hari has made Singam 2 again with a little difference. There is nothing in the story and screenplay is also very weak. Since the story is routine and plot gets predictable, Singam 3 brings down the interest. Second half is good compare to average first half of the film. The powerful acting of Suriya coupled with good technical values provide enough entertainment.

On the whole, lack of novelty in the storyline, Singam 3 will leave you unsatisfied. The film may appeal to mass audience.

Routine Singam!
