Two medicos in separate incidents committed suicide in the Telugu states.

A 27 year old Sravani, who is doing Post graduation in MD, Anaesthesia from Osmania Medical College committed suicide by injecting an over dose of anesthesia mixed in saline at her private room near the college in Koti, Hyderabad. She committed this unnatural act by locking her room door from inside and injected the anesthesia laced saline into herself. Her mother had called several times, but Sravani’ was not receiving the calls. Immediately, Sravani’s mother alerted her roommates and they went to the hostel and found her dead body. Afzalganj police are investigating after booking a case of suspicious death. A native of Miryalaguda in Telangana, Sravani was studying PG final year in Osmania Medical College.

Similarly, a 23 old medico committed suicide in West Godavari. Balabhadra Ritesh (23), Final Year MBBS student from Eluru was discovered dead behind his hostel building. He came from a well educated family. His father, Dr. Venkatraju is also practicing the same profession in Kakinada.

According to classmates, Ritesh did not mingle with others for some time and did not show any interest to participate in any cultural events in the college. He was last seen by hostel mates at around 5pm on Wednesday. Friends and hostel staff started searching since late night and finally found his body on the back side of the hostel building. The reason for the suicide is not known.
